Fifty-five percent of survey respondents began using complementary therapies because they felt that their medications were not effective, while 49 percent were concerned about the side effects of their medication. Sixty-nine percent of respondents have utilized massage, and 41 percent have tried acupuncture or acupressure. Other complementary therapies used include magnesium, riboflavin (vitamin B2) and feverfew.
